Hi Ape Fans ! This time we've got the King himself !

 The one and only Rick "King Kong" Baker!

We found 3 awesome examples of Rick from 3 classics ! 

 First up is Rick as Sydney, in the comedy classic " The incredible Shrinking Woman"

 Next up is Rick as an escaped lab experiment in " The Thing With Two Heads"

And finally, Rick as the King himself, in the 1976 version of King Kong !

Gorilla 3 Pack Pics #2 Charlie Gemora !

Hi again Monkey Minions ! Today old Bongo goes WAAAAAAY to the back of the vault
in search of Gemora Gorilla Goodies from the dawn of cinema !

We'll start out with INGAGI ! A notorious 1930 film that tried to pass Charlie off as a real ape who carries off human women for naughty purposes !

Next is Murder in the Rue Morgue 1932. Bela Lugosi stars as Dr. Miracle and Charlie as Erik the Ape !

And lastly, here's Charlie, in the role of Taglet the Gorilla, stalking the lovely Natalie Kingston as Jane in the classic

Tarzan the Tiger 1926.

Old Bongo here, working my way into a huge job of catch-up for being absent so long!
To make it up to you, here are a trio of favorites from the Bongo Archive featuring The Legend himself.
Bob "Tracy Kogar" Burns !
Big gorilla brother bob shares a huge space in the hearts of Gorilla Man and myself for all the years of research and stills collecting he's done. So Without further ado, I give you Bob Burns !

Beer guzzlin' gorilla !

The 1960's were a magical time in the world of creative advertising.
This is a time when such "adult" things as cigarettes and beer were staples in commercial campaigns
The beer commercials were especially clever, using elements evocative of classic themes as Spy movies, adventure film, and a never ending variety of beautiful women.

One such genius advertising campaigns was for Falstaff Beer.
This series that ran in the early and mid 60's, feature  legendary Gorilla Man, George Barrows as a cuddly beer swilling simian , who for all appearances is the boyfriend of a cute brunette, in a variety of themes and settings.

So for your viewing pleasure, I give you ...Falstaff  Beer ! Gorilla approved...Gorilla guzzled !

The Gorilla 1922 What an adorable smile !

The gorilla is a time honored classic of the " Old Dark House" tradition.

This was the first cinematic version of the already well established stage play and it stars 

the mirthful Charles Murray and Fred Kelsey as bumbling detectives Garrity and Mulligan.

There's murder afoot in the mansion of wealthy Walter Stevens ( Played with scenery chewing panache by the great Walter Pidgeon !)

The murderer in question goes by the nick name " The Gorilla" though he is quite human.

To further complicate a confusing who dunnit with sliding panels, and secret passages, a real gorilla shows up in the mix !

If your a fan of half wit , hard boiled slapstick humor, then you're sure to love the Gorilla ! 

Oh....The gorilla you ask? Well, it's a damned fine looking suit for the period, as it should be....Charles Gemora created the suit! Though a MUCH larger actor played the gorilla rather than Charlie.

Wah Chang channels George Barrows !

Hiya Gorilla gang, old Bongo has a very rare treat in store for you this time !
Wah Ming Chang was one of the premier monster makers of the 50s and 60s.
Wah was responsible for most of the terrifying monsters from shows like the Outer Limits and Star Trek.
It seemed only natural for him to build s gorilla suit, and he did....and what a suit !
The funny thing is, that rather than look to real gorillas for inspiration,  he looked no farther than the guy who was getting most of the good gorilla gigs at the time, the legendary George Barrows  !
Wah's interpretation of Barrows suit is a sight to behold  !
