Monster Gorilla is a delightfully fun tribute to most of our favorites in classic simian cinema.
You'll see nods to such classics as The Ape Man with Bela Lugosi, Bride of the Gorilla, Nabonga, and White Pongo ! There are literally dozens of scenes inspired by these and many more of your favorites !

Monster gorilla came about as a short film contest sponsored by our Facebook sister site Ape Suit Cinema.
Craig Scott Lamb, the administrator of ASC asked for submissions to enter, with the winner to be shown at the Ape Suit Cinema sponsored Jungle-Con !
Monster Gorilla won the contest, and will be featured in the program!

Monster Gorilla stars the stunning Heather Brinkley as a ship wrecked Damsel, washed ashore on a mysterious island...and evil island.

The island is inhabited by the maddest of mad scientists, the deranged Doctor Vornoff, played with scenery chewing brilliance by Bill Fredericks.

Bill channels the very essence of Bela Lugosi at his hammiest !
The hapless Heather falls into Vornoff's evil clutches and prepared for an evil experiment...Vornoff actually plans to ....NOPE !!!! I'm not gonna tell ya !
What I will tell you is that in Monster gorilla you WILL see:

Once again old Bongo finds himself behind the ape ball, trying to keep up with all my ape-ly duties.
If you're wondering why I've been so negligent of my HGM duties, well I've teamed up with Nightveil Media, and Marauder productions to bring you a new classically styled monkey movie !
Working from a script by yours truly, (under my human guise of Chris Casteel ) Producer/Director
Bill Black has crafted a really fun romp mirroring all the classics of the past !
What are these classics you ask ? (go ahead, I'll wait)
Oh, glad you asked !
Well, in Monster gorilla you'll find inspirations from :
The Ape Man
White Pongo
Bride of the Monster
Bride of the gorilla,
And a slew of others that inspired elements of the film, some which are actual story elements !
 The film stars the stunningly beautiful Heather Brinkley as the hapless heroine Heather.
The  co-stars include the incomprehensibly manic Bill Fredericks as Vornoff. The talented Scott Mena, Yours truly Chris Casteel as (you guessed it ) a gorilla ! And introducing the newest member to our gorilla family,( a gorilla girl, though she plays a male gorilla)...my daughter, Kelley Young !
Kell is a real chimp off the old block, giving a fantastic performance.
The film will be presented in several formats: a 30 min. color version, a 30 min version in glorious Black and White , a 20 minute film festival version, and an extra special 12 minute version specially mastered to look like an authentic Castle Films version ! Plus A few surprises !
For those unfamiliar with Castle Films, before the advent of VHS as a home movie format, the only way to watch movies at home was with an 8 mm, super 8 mm, or 16 mm film projector.
The films were available from many catalogs and classic magazines at the time, including the legendary
Famous Monsters of Filmland !
Castle Films is now owned by the great Craig Scott Lamb who is also the owner of American International Pictures !

Guess what gorilla gang..... your old buddy Bongo is back as Satan the gorilla in the next TWO exciting chapters of "Nyoka the Jungle Girl" !

The last Chapter"Return of Nyoka the jungle Girl" left off with Nyoka about to be sacrificed beneath descending blade of a giant pendulum ! With time running out, Nyoka struggles furiously against the chains that bind her courtesy of the villainous Crimson Skull. She has managed to free her legs , and hands, but is bound tight by a metal collar around her neck. The deadly blade begins its final descent, Nyoka lets loose a bloodcurdling scream, and THEN?? To be continued next chapter ! Drat and double drat ! Darned cliffhangers !

Old Bongo has a tendancy to wax nostalgic about things like this, so I'll let the good folks at cultretro about this next thrilling chapter !

[ Statuesque beauty Nicola Rae returns as daring jungle heroine Nyoka Gordon as she once again battles the maniacal Crimson Skull for possession of the mystical Amulet of Vultura! When our heroine disrupts the villain's scheme to control the gorilla Satan, the Crimson Skull conspires to use the Amulet to resurrect Queen Vultura herself (the classic villainess from the original 1940's serial). Wow, what can I add to that ? This was a really fun project for everyone involved. We filmed on one of the coldest days of the year ( for Florida) so poor Nicola was literaly freezing her butt off, in her skimpy outfit.

Meanwhile,I was quite comfortable in 45 lbs of latex, fur, and padding ! This was quite a contrast to the first film, when it was over 100 degrees and I was dying in the suit !

I was happy about the lower temps because I was able to focus more on having fun with the character, and the subtle nuances involved rather than just trying to survive.

I think the fun we had shows through on film , as everyone really had a blast making it.
