This truly has to be one the oddest promotional items I have seen from a gorilla suit film. I'm amazed an item as fragile as this has survived over the years - shouldn't it be up a tree somewhere?
The 1933 comedy short MICKEY'S APE MAN features a very young Mickey Rooney getting chased about by an escaped gorilla - the material is classic OUR GANG type stuff. Check out the YouTube clip for a sample of this 2 reeler.
